GlobalMed recently headed to the annual pilgrimage for healthcare IT innovators: the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference in Orlando, Florida.
As one of more than 1,300 exhibitors in the Orange County Convention Center, our booth stayed very busy with attendees who wanted to learn more about virtual care technology. We were also a featured partner in the Microsoft booth where we showcased our Transportable Exam Station and eNcounter®, our virtual care software platform, now available in the HITRUST-certified and highly secure Microsoft Azure environment. HIMSS is all about new innovations that can improve healthcare, and booth visitors were intrigued by the potential of telemedicine to improve patient care on a global scale.
One positive report came from Dr. Jayne at HIStalk, who stopped by to learn more about GlobalMed telemedicine stations. Her report: “I liked their HD camera, which helped me see in one of their staff’s ears with a picture clearer than my own otoscope at home. It also had a dermatology camera with polarizing features which helps me see deeper into the skin layers.” She also noted our international reach, saying, “They truly are a global player, in use in more than 50 countries.”
If you didn’t attend HIMSS19, you can catch up with some of our leadership interviews. In this HIMSS19 highlight interview, Dr. Dean Smith, GlobalMed CMIO, talks about how telehealth is changing the healthcare landscape and why, as both a cost-saver and life-saver, telehealth is finally a leading topic of conversation at HIMSS.
You can also hear GlobalMed’s CEO, Joel Barthelemy, discuss the trajectory of virtual care over the past decade and how virtual care is becoming more ubiquitous and saving more lives while reducing healthcare costs.
New Choices for Security, Flexibility, Simplicity, and Data Acquisition
Here are a few other topics our booth visitors wanted to hear about:
Whether you were a HIMSS19 visitor or not, we can provide more information or answer any questions you might have. We’re always happy to hear about your challenges and share ideas on how our technology can help you.
