SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.– As part of the ongoing effort to identify world-class organizations that better serve American Service Veterans, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Verification and Evaluation has recognized GlobalMed as a Veteran-Owned Small Business. This designation will add the Scottsdale, Arizona- based company to the VAs Vendor Information Pages. GlobalMed CEO and Founder Joel E. Barthelemy served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. GlobalMed now has VA authorization to promote its verified status on its Web site and marketing materials for the next two years.

GlobalMed telemedicine solutions are currently in use throughout the VA Health Care System with some 2,000 installations in 150 medical centers and across almost 1,000 Community-Based Outpatient Clinics. The latest figures available from Fiscal Year 2014-2015 show that VA healthcare providers did 2.1 million virtual visits with nearly 700,000 veterans. The programs cost avoidance initiative led the VA to eliminate co-pays for veterans who see their physicians via telemedicine.
