The award dinner was held at the Phoenix Art Museum on May 11th. - **Heidi Jannenga**, the co-founder and president of [WebPT](https://www.webpt.com/), was named the Tech Titan. Her company offers a software solution for physical therapists to document patient treatment. - The CEO of the Year Award went to **Tomas Gorny**. His company [Nextiva](https://www.nextiva.com/) is a cloud communications company in Scottsdale. - **David Higginson** was chosen as the CIO/CTO of the Year. He is the Executive Vice-President and Chief Administrative Officer at [Phoenix Childrens Hospital](http://www.phoenixchildrens.org/). - The Technology Innovator of the Year is **Doug Davis**, Senior Vice-President and General Manager of the Automated Driving Group at the [Intel Corporation](http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/automotive/autonomous-vehicles.html). His group works on autonomous cars. - **Patrick Armstrong** took home the Technology Advocate Award. He is a partner with [Canal Partners](http://canalpartners.com/), a venture capital firm that provides professional investor services and capital to B2B software and Internet tech companies. - Community Hero honors went to **Mallory Dyer**, the co-founder and CEO of Graphlock, a cross-platform mobile and web-based application that turns smartphones, tables and laptops into scientific and graphing calculators for students. - Finally,** Samuel Engram** was designated the Rising Star. He is the Executive Vice-President of Paradigm Technology, a company that provides business solutions to help clients shift their focus from traditional IT needs to big data, cloud and project leadership. It was my honor to nominate Mike Harris for the awards program. He developed GlobalMed’s family of video examination cameras, including the TotalExam3 and the TotalExamHD. Here at GlobalMed, we count ourselves fortunate to have him as our Chief Technical Officer.
